Low science world just coming out of the dark ages. Wizards and priests are few and far between. The land between towns are dangerous.

[edit] Importance of the PCs

Somewhat. The path that they take may not change the world as a whole, but they could bring about a wider unseen change.

This may change in the future, depending on their chosen paths.

[edit] Campaign Tone

  1. Morality - Some cross-over between good and bad. Just take a look at our own government.  ;)
  2. Realism - Semi-fantastic. This is a game after all. The characters and other will be able to do things that bend the laws of physics. Think anime/kung-fu films.
  3. Outlook - Will depend on the players. Some things will work out, while others will not.
  4. Seriousness - In theory, more serious and comedy. But, I doubt that I will be able to keep it up.
  5. Continuity - Hoping for a long storyline that will eventually/slowly unfold. Lots of side adventures along the way.

Low Science world. There is magic in the world. There are few wizards.

[edit] Religion

The human church basically teaches about a relegion with a single god. The religion also has a mesiah figure. The mesiah was once a human male. He discovered the scret for immortality and is living among the heavens. He watches over and guides the races from there. Some of the non-human races have adopted their own religions. They are more history, fable, and nature (natural) oriented. A lot like U.S. Native Americans.

The technology on this world is standard fantasy (aka pre-gunpowder). The only explosives come in the form of alchohal. Oil burns, but does not explode. It comes from animals. Metal items are expensive. They cost 5x from anything equivalent made out of animal hides or anything from nature.

Small amount of trade going on. Only items that can easily be shipped or in desperate need. Barter is the preferred form on economy. Most small towns are isolationist. Strangers are treated with suspision.

[edit] Occurrence of Magic

Magic is uncommon. If a child ever shows some sort of magical talent. A wizard usually shows up within 6 months to take the child away to be trained. The child is never seen, nor heard from again.

[edit] Influence of Magic

Magic is rare and feared. Wizards influence most of the world's rulers. In one instance, a major city is run by a council of wizards.
